Book Review
The book To Kill A Mockingbird is a good book for students and others to read because it represents the innocents of the blacks and what they faced in the 1930's and how the book relates to some situations blacks are faced with today. I would recommend this because because it deals with deep issues like racism and injustice without making you feel depressed and it is written for a high schoolers perspective. The way Harper Lee uses the method of flashback for the whole you see what it is like dealing with these problems from a young age and looking back at the problems when Scout was young and how scout sees it now.
In the book Tom Robinson is accused of rape and Atticus represents him in court. Atticus does a really good job and you can obviously tell that what the Ewell family is saying is not true. In the kids eyes Tom was obviously innocent and a lot of people oculd tell he was innocent. But he was black and jury decided him guilty because of the racism towards him. After watching the entire trial the kids were decistated in finding out that their perfect little town of Maycomb faced these large problems. They didn't know what to think of the town anymore. After Tom was sent to jail he tried to escape and was killed. The kids were devistated but knew they could not do anything about it.
I would recommend this book because I found it interesting and it really taught me something about problems that we still face today. I feel if you would read this book it would definitely make a statement to you about how racism seems be able to bend the rules. Finally, I think that the situations found in the book can be found in todays society and the battle of justice for blacks.
